*thparkle*

So, Clees and I saw Kaya (ex.Schwarx Stein) perform live tonight. I wasn't quite sure what to expect because I thought he'd only released like, 4 songs (it's really more like 9...) and wondered how that could fill a one man.

The answer? Drag. Lots, and lots of drag. And little gay gogo dancers boys. ^^; Kaya's three drag queen friends (Scarlet, Galley and I didn't catch) were madly adorable, full of sparkles and ruffles and showgirl glam. Like, high drag. Faaaaabulous. The opening act was just them dancing and lipsinking with the gay gogo dancers (We are Family! I'm Bringing Sexy Back... etc) and then they randomly did numbers with Kaya.

Kaya... is adorable. He Thparkles. Rainbow thparkles. He even beats out Kamijo's "Bonjour Honey~~~~" for flamboyancy. ^^;; But it was very cute. And he sounds really really good live, which made me happy, as I've always really liked Kaya's vocals.
Musically there's some Schwarz Stein in there still - understandable as Hora wrote some of his work - but overall a more... upbeat, theatrical quality to it. I kind of like it. I bought his album. Will probably share a couple of the more SS songs... when I get around to pimping out Hora's albums.....

Oh, and watching him and his drag queens do "Lady Marmalade" was -awesome-. Kaya in a pink sparkly tux jacket with tails and matching tophat is the win ^___^

He also did more costume changes than any other artist like... EVER. sad because the outfit he wore for the first number was absolutely GORGEOUS - cage skirt and matching collar and elabourate crown - but he took off the cage/collar/crown after the first number to just wear the dress underneath. still pretty... but I wanted to stare at the cage more ;_;

Time to catch some zzzs... meeting Chibi in the morning in Shinjuku. ^_^

Oh, and 'Glitter' and the new Kagrra album bring my purchased cd/dvd count on this trip to 34. oo;; (and I'm only halfway through! ;___; )
